Jamal's Photos
Administrative Assistant, Jenn, here... I've been keeping a watch on the team's activity today as they've just arrived at Hong Kong's airport. They're scheduled to fly to Bejing in less than two hours.
I took some of Jamal's photos and wanted to share them with you. I can't wait to hear all about this trip! His quotes were quite limited regarding these few shots, but I'm sure you can all gather that this is "Big Buddah". Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, is a large bronze statue of a Buddha Amoghasiddhi, completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong.

Solar Tower Camp (STC)
The Solar Tower Camp, aka our hostel is actually not really bad. I didn't realize this place was known as a hostel, but I did not have extremely low expectations of hostels either. The dorm area seems to be pretty small, and it seems like there is no one here except for us, but maybe it's just because it's winter season. This place has surpassed most our expectations, especially for about $20 USD a night and $2 breakfast. The camp has beautiful scenery and gardens and open spaces, but the area it's around is very isolated from everything, and it'd be a far walk to reach anywhere remotely interesting, even a park. We have ridiculously small rooms, but we adjust well enough to them. We had a shower incident the other night: 11pm and the fire alarm goes off (and the showers are nice). Apparently the shower doors must be closed before turning on the water or the fire alarm will go off, and one of our girls may or may not have been behind the incident, but it's all good laughs now. The Solar Tower observatory was interesting. Our tour guide was very well learned in solar energy and he gave us the tour of the building, telling us all about the sun and energy. Learned a few new interesting things. Besides the sound of jackhammers working at 8 in the morning, it's a nice camp.

Videos from the First Concert
Update from Administrative Assistant, Jenn:
Thank's to audience member (and guide), Siu Kei Lui, we have a first hand look at the team's first concert at Dr. Lum's home church, Tsim Sha Tsui Swatow Christian Church, in Hong Kong.
Here are his remarks about the concert: "It was amazing! Absolutely fabulous . . .I was thinking, it must be not be easy for them to sing in an language that they don't know. They sang it so beautifully and my dad who was also in the concert asked me to play my clip to him again tonight. He certainly loves that song. . .I sincerely thank you and your students for all your dedication and practices. I hope they'll enjoy their stay in Hong Kong."

Still in flight
Administrative Assistant, Jenn, checking in while the team is up in the air:
The team is at an altitude of 34,000 feet and traveling at about 550MPH! Even at that height and rate, it's a rather loooooong flight. Two and a half hours more before they touch ground in Seoul, South Korea!
They each have a personal monitor on the seat in front of them which allows them to play video games, music, or even watch movies. Most importantly, they've been able to kick back and get some much needed rest. I wonder if any of them have taken advantage of the in flight extra services offered? Can't wait to hear what the meals have been like so far! From the website, it seems they may get a chance to have their first Korean meal.
